We welcomed our first nephew, mac, in may of this year. He was anxious to be here so he decided to come over a month early- which never comes without a little stress- but the Lord provided a healthy baby and for that, we are all thrilled. After a little time in the NICU and some excellent care from the nurses, mac is now eating like a cow and putting some meat on those bones. These images are a few from the journey.

We had a great time but of course it flew by much too quickly. We got a couple chances to go in to seaside which was where christie and I honeymooned..we were super thankful to be back just one year later. Below are a few photos I snapped with my new canon s90. Such a cool little camera..image quality is great, super compact and pretty affordable.

The shoot was at the historic baker hotel in mineral wells, TX. The baker hotel has been abandoned since the 70's- It is truly a remarkable place but seriously eery. Known to be the most haunted building in the state, we had our fair share of interesting sites while rummaging through the floors (dead rodents, fresh pools of blood, etc..) I think I easily took close to 100 iPhone images and wanted to share a few. Overall the shoot went awesome- the building was such a unique place.

Much of her time off is spent browsing through baking blogs learning and being inspired. We thought it could be a fun collaborative project for her to bake and me to shoot. I think its a great way to document her creativity and a great chance for me to do something different and shoot a little food. These were some cupcakes she made for the superbowl- which were amazing, of course.
